I'm not trying to argue o.O. Just talking. The after-comment was not meant to be offensive, it was a question. I apologize if it seemed otherwise.

Because Tibertus for all his military glory never learnt how to read a website. SEGA calls it an RTS, Creative studios call's it an RTS and every game critic site I have seen it on lists it as an RTS.
Tib I know it contains both elements however it is an RTS. I will choose the opinion of the 100 or so people who made the game over your naval smartarseness.

It doesn't say that, I've seen on the main website them call the game simply "strategy" not RTS. IGN has it listed as Strategy, steam has it listed as Strategy, PCzone has it listed a strategy/simulation, D2D has it listed as Strategy. No one has RTS. That's because the game is nothing like an RTS, at all.
Edit: Creative Assembly does not list the game's genre on the main website, which is a smart move because the game is too different to be lumped into one genre anyways.

I could have sworn I saw them list RTW as a RTS when it came out years ago. Screw it.

I think doing that would be pointless and stupid. Since it's already obvious that I understand how arbitrary internet arguments are.

Starcraft, enough said. Its the mother, and father of all RTS and so far unbeaten. (ok, well there were RTS before Starcraft, but all of them were more Chess like, both sides were equal, and just looked different. Starcraft reinvented what people expect of a RTS)

IT actully is, the first draft of Starcraft was
"Orcs in space" And was really just Warcraft 2 in space, but people complained that it was to much like the old Warcraft 2, when they were about to release it. So they worked at it two additional years, and made it a compleet stant alone unrelated game.
While Warcraft 2 had two races, they both only looked different, but were almost exactly the same in stats(like chess) but Starcraft made 3 unique races that were completly different in both looks, stats and gameplay. Wich is why its so famues, it was the first to try a new go at the idea of RTS.
